Helping you discover your wormy side

Home Page

Hi I'm Worm Mama!  I am a stay at home Mom of 4 kids who found this as a great way to green my children's future.  I am a West Seattle resident born and raised.  It is my goal that through worms I can educate my community and children.  If we had more worms in our environment we would have greener lawns and more bountiful gardens.  Follow me as we navigate though the world of Vermiculture.

You may ask me what is Vermiculture?

Vermiculture is composting with worms.  Worms provide the best soil amendment for your garden.  They also can prevent your food from ending up in landfills.

This is one of my analogies of American Society today.  We as Americans consume loads of unhealthy junk food every year.  Then we don't feel well and can't perform as well so we go buy vitamins and minerals.  If we would have eaten healthy in the first place we wouldn't need the additional vitamins.  Well, we do the same thing to our gardens, lawns, and flower beds.  We feed them fertilizers filled with pesticides and herbicides.  Killing the natural living things in our soil, not to mention our fish in our waters.  Then we go buy a supplement for our lawn and garden to power it up so it can grow better.  If we would just compost, letting many different nutrients and organisms come naturally including worms our gardens, lawn, and planet would be much healthier.

If this makes sense to you come join my effort!

Composting with Red Wigglers is easy, fast, and fun!
